About the round
The Circuit of the Americas, located near Austin, Texas, is the first U.S. Grand Prix facility specifically constructed for this purpose. It boasts a 5.513 km track and can host 120,000 spectators. Completed in late 2012, this impressive 1000-acre venue saw MotoGP make its debut there in 2013. A standout feature is the 41-meter elevation change, marked by a steep incline at the end of the home straight leading into a sharp left turn. The circuit is one of the most varied on the GP circuit, combining fast straights with tight hairpins, and many sections resemble parts of famous tracks worldwide. It was designed by the esteemed German architect and circuit designer Hermann Tilke. The circuit runs counterclockwise and includes 20 corners in total, with 9 right turns and 11 left turns.
