Hill country, big skies and even bigger barbecue. Grand Prix Getaways gets you in and out of COTA without the Texas-sized hassle.
What to know about the area
Base in Downtown or South Congress for dining and nightlife. Expect heat, sun and long walks between zones—COTA is sprawling and hilly.
Getting to/from the circuit
Official shuttles and rideshare lots are the safest bets. Leave early and budget extra time post-race; traffic bottlenecks are real.
Best seating
Turn 12 Grandstand: heavy braking after the back straight; broad multi-corner views.
Turn 15: great panorama of the stadium section.
Main Grandstand: start/finish, pit lane and pre-race ceremonies.
What you can/can’t bring
Common bans: outside food/drink, glass, metal bottles, large bags, flares, drones and weapons. Small soft-sided bags typically pass; check day-of updates.
Best 5-star hotels
Commodore Perry Estate (Auberge), Four Seasons Austin, Austin Proper Hotel, Fairmont Austin, Hotel Saint Cecilia.
Best restaurants
Franklin Barbecue (arrive early), Emmer & Rye, Uchi, Lutie’s, Olamaie.
Little-known gotchas
Shade is scarce; hats, sunscreen and hydration strategy are essential. Tall bleachers can be windy up top—secure caps and banners.
Cut the chaos. We’ll design your shuttle plan, reserved seating and hospitality flow via F1 Packages and VIP Hospitality.
